Izzat Darwazeh obtained his first degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1984. He obtained the MSc and PhD degrees, from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), in 1986 and 1991, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral research Fellow at the University of Wales - Bangor -UK from 1990 till 1993, researching very high speed optical systems and advanced MMICs for optical communications applications. He was a Senior Lecturer in Optoelectronic Circuits and Systems in the Department at Electrical Engineering and Electronics at UMIST. He moved to University College London in October 2001.
His teaching covers aspects of optical fibre communications, telecommunication networks and high speed integrated circuits and MMICs. His research interests are mainly in the areas of high speed optical communication systems and networks, microwave circuits and MMICs for optical fibre applications and in mobile communication circuits and systems. He has authored/co-authored more than 120 papers in the areas of optical and wireless (cellular) communications and MMICs and high speed/frequency circuits. He is the co-editor of the IEE book on "Analogue Optical Communications" and the co-author (with Luis Moura) of "Linear Circuit Analysis and Modelling: From DC to RF". He acts as a consultant to several UK and international organisations and commercial bodies and he serves on a wide range of professional committees.

Dr Ryan C Grammenos

Ryan received his Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University in 2007. He received a Masters degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering and Automatic Control from the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis in 2008 and he graduated with a doctorate in Communications from UCL in 2013. Ryan has a deep technical background in signal processing for communications and has held engineering positions in industry. He is currently responsible for managing the BITE hub at UCL and has strong interests in the areas of the Internet of Things, data analytics and entrepreneurship.

Dr Daniel J Hulme
Director of Business Analytics, CEO of Satalia

Daniel is the Founder and CEO of Satalia (NPComplete Ltd), a spin-out of UCL that provides a unique algorithmic technology and professional services to solve industries data-driven decision problems. He is passionate about emerging technology and regularly speaks at events with interests in Algorithms, Optimisation, Analytics, BigData and the Future Internet.
Daniel has been awarded a Masters in Computer Science with Machine Learning and Doctorate in Computational Complexity from UCL. He is the Director of UCL Business Analytics MSc, and has Senior Researcher and Lecturing positions in Computer Science and Management Science at UCL and Pearson College. He is a Visiting Fellow of the Big Innovation Centre, and also one of the founding members of the IMPACT team tasked with pioneering UCL's impact initiatives.
Daniel has Advisory and Executive positions across world-wide companies in the area of Education, Analytics, Big Data, Data-driven Decision Making and Open-Innovation. He owns a small incubation space to help support and cultivate SME's in London's Zone 1. He holds an international Kauffman Global Entrepreneur Scholarship and actively promotes entrepreneurship and technology innovation across the globe.
Mr Tim Bodley-Scott

Tim is responsible for centre administration including recruitment and admissions, business development and marketing. He has previously worked for Imperial College London and Kent County Council in project management, marketing and student support roles. Tim is a Chartered Marketer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Dr Clive Poole

Dr Clive Poole is a Principal Teaching Fellow at University College London (UCL) where he runs the "Telecommunications with Business" Masters degree programme, in addition to teaching various business and technical modules at Masters level. He has more than 25 years of experience in the electronics and telecommunications industries in both the UK and the Far East, with broad experience of product design, manufacturing and sales within a demanding multi-cultural environment. He was responsible for the development and launch of numerous successful electronic products and has held top management positions in several Asian high tech companies, including as CEO of a paging systems manufacturer in Hong Kong and Managing Director of a public listed manufacturing company in Thailand. Before joining UCL he was responsible for the conception and successful launch of Navitas Telecom, one of the first companies to offer mobile telephone services on board passenger ships. This lead to him becoming European Sales Director for Wireless Maritime Services (WMS), a division of AT&T mobility and the World's largest provider of maritime mobile telephone services. Dr Poole holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester, an MBA from the Open University and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
